Prof. Satyajit Majumdar is a highly accomplished expert in entrepreneurship, social innovation, and skill development, with over four decades of experience spanning academia, industry, and social enterprise. He currently serves as Managing Director of TISS Incube Foundation, a premier platform for nurturing socially responsible entrepreneurship, where he mentors startups, innovators, and social enterprises in strategy, business modeling, and impact creation.
With a Ph.D. in Small Business Management and Business Excellence from BITS Pilani and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from SGSITS Indore, Prof. Majumdar combines rigorous academic training with hands-on experience in organizational strategy, entrepreneurship ecosystems, and skill development initiatives. His prior roles include Dean of the School of Management and Labour Studies at TISS and Professor at the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, where he guided research, curriculum development, and student mentoring in entrepreneurship, social innovation, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Prof. Majumdar’s work focuses on creating sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystems, fostering innovation in underserved communities, and integrating social impact with business excellence. He has led national and international initiatives, including workshops, investor conclaves, and incubation programs, with a focus on developing entrepreneurial talent and supporting start-ups in scaling responsibly. He also serves as a distinguished adjunct professor at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and contributes to policy advisory roles, including biotechnology-based programs for societal development under the Government of India.
Widely recognized as a thought leader in entrepreneurship and skill development, Prof. Majumdar has been honored with the Dr. V.G. Patel Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship education and mentoring.
