Privacy Policy

This policy explains what TennenX collects, why, where it is stored and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website and the TennenX products, principally CareerCompass. It is written to be read, not to be survived: if anything here is unclear, please ask us and we will explain it in plain terms.

This version is interim and under legal review. It describes our actual practice today and will be revised as that review completes. We will note the date of any material change at the top of this page.

Who we are

TennenX is an India-based company building career and skilling products. For any question about your personal data, or to exercise any right described below, write to tennenx.official@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

This website

Browsing tennenx.com requires no account. If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address, phone number and message you choose to send, and we use them only to reply. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

What CareerCompass collects

CareerCompass requires an account, and its purpose is to assess your skills against a role you are aiming for. To do that it collects what you tell it:

• Identity and contact details: name, email address, date of birth.
• Location: your current, permanent and preferred locations.
• Education history and work history, including the free text you write about them.
• Your goals, and your own assessment of your skills.

Separately, and only if you choose to provide it, an optional step invites information about physical condition or disability, mental-health context and neurodivergence. This exists so guidance can account for your circumstances rather than ignore them. It is optional in the real sense: you can complete the product fully without it, and you can withdraw it later from Account → Privacy. We treat this category with more care than the rest, and we are actively reviewing that handling with counsel.

How your information is used

To evaluate your profile, produce a skills-gap report against a target role, recommend a learning path, operate your account, and send transactional email such as verification and password resets. We do not use your personal data to train models.

Automated processing

CareerCompass uses AI to read the prose you write, build a follow-up questionnaire, and put a finished assessment into words. The assessment itself, which skills a role requires and how far you are from them, is computed from a structured skills taxonomy, not generated by a language model. Nothing on the product makes an employment decision about you; it produces guidance you are free to disagree with, and you can ask us to explain any result.

To do this we send the relevant parts of your information to third-party model providers, which today include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Voyage AI. They process it to return a result and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Where your information is stored

The application and its database run on servers in Bangalore, India. Uploaded documents and encrypted database backups are stored in object storage in Singapore, because our provider does not currently offer that service in its Bangalore region. This means some of your information is held outside India. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Encrypted backups are retained on a rolling basis so we can recover from failure. Retention periods are among the items under review, and we will state specific periods here once settled rather than guessing at them now.

Your rights

• Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Correct anything that is wrong: most fields you can edit yourself.
• Delete your account and the data associated with it.
• Withdraw a consent you previously gave, at any time, from Account → Privacy.
• Complain to us, and to the relevant data protection authority.

Children

CareerCompass is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete it if we discover we have.

Security

Access to production systems is restricted and audited, database backups are encrypted, and our error-monitoring is configured to strip personal data before anything is sent to it. We do not record your screen or session.

Changes

We will update this page as our practices change and as the legal review completes, and will show the revision date at the top.
